I had heard so many good things about Brigitte Helm before I watched Metropolis and I knew I just had to see how she fared in the film. Well she knocked all of my expectations out of the park, playing a dual role which was quite remarkable in those days. She gave an outstanding performance and I honestly believe she rates highly in my top 10 actresses list.
Of course, she did other films beside Metropolis such as The Love of Jeanne Rey and Alraune but her performance in Metropolis is what people most remember her for.
I recommend you watch Metropolis as Brigitte aside, it’s an incredible film for it’s time.
